FAQ

FAQ

What is ‘no watering’ mode and how can I toggle it on and off?

The ‘no watering’ mode on your QuikDial Tap Timer stops any automated programs you have in place, while still allowing manual programming of the Tap Timer. This can be beneficial in the winter months to save on water usage.

Preparing tap timers for winter

  • Be sure you check with your local water authorities for any sprinkler bans
  • We recommend either reducing the watering time or turning it off completely
  • In really cold climates, we suggest that you remove the battery and make sure there is no water left inside the tap timer
  • If you live in an area that gets frost, we recommend taking off the tap timer completely and storing it away for the meantime

No good

Just installed this system and I found that zone 4 cannot be switched off.

Works Perfectly

Read the manual, easy setup, works perfectly. I now have 3 sequential watering lines in my vegy garden. A spare for the next bed. It is coordinated with the pump on my dam, which operates using wifi and electric timers. Perfect.
I have made a weatherproof cover the ensure it lasts outdoors.
So far so good.

frustration on steroids

there is a link on the previous page which directs users to some key information which was not included in the manual. i hit the link which reads:https//homanindustries.com.au/product/quikdial-4-outlet-tap-timer/?=qr expecting to get the missing information. and lo and behold, that so called link does not work either. it seems the solution to the missing information is missing in action. This sends a very bad message to users.
Looks like i will have to use this automatic 'intuitive' device manually until the missing information comes to light. That means going outside to the tap every 20 minutes to fire it up.

Does what it says, if you have all the info

You will need this link:
https://www.holmanindustries.com.au/product/quikdial-4-outlet-tap-timer/?=qr
The info is not in the included instructions.

I bought from Bunnings and found it interesting the branding on the unit and the branding on the box don't quite match.
Maybe "olman" is the chinese spelling? 🤔

It works but manual doesn’t

Manual does not explain that there is a pre-set no watering mode. It comes set to no watering so you just think it’s not working. I had to read online reviews to see what was happening.

So it’s actually really easy to use. But the instructions are completely wrong. The unit otherwise works as described but it is really annoying that you can’t set some zones for less time that others.

Don't buy it

Impossible to program, stop removing my comment and how do you have 2 five star ratings when the other two reviews are rubbish. I'll be taking this up with Bunnings.

A waste of $109.00

The programming instructions are absolutely useless. I have followed them to the letter, and it just does not work as they claim. Very, very frustrating !!!!!!

Disappointing product

Although the product allows for watering 4 zones, there doesn’t seem to be the option of watering each zone at different times. The instructions say the start time is applied to all zones, but is only active on the zones that have been toggled on. I don’t have the water pressure to enable watering multiple zones at the same time. I had hoped I would be able to set the timer so that 4 zones would be watered in sequence not simultaneously.

Also the battery insert is easily inserted the wrong way, which then buckles the metal connector. Once the battery insert has been inserted incorrectly it is very hard to extract and insert correctly

Waste of timer

Product manual is terrible. Can't get the timer to come on, there are symbols on the screen the manual doesn't show. Generally a terrible unit

Hi Matt, it looks like you have toggled on the 'no watering' mode. Press the main dial on your QuikDial down for three seconds and the ‘no watering’ icon will disappear, and your automated watering programming will continue.

The ‘no watering’ mode on your QuikDial Tap Timer stops any automated programs you have in place, while still allowing manual programming of the Tap Timer. This can be beneficial in the winter months to save on water usage.

Don’t do it.

Woeful product with arguably the worst operation manual ever created.
