Hose Reel Connection On Bracket

The weight of the hose reel is simply to much over a period of time on the plastic support connectors onto the wall bracket. The plastic has simply bent under the weight of the reel and doesn't stay connected to the wall mount.
Given the price my advice is the unit is fit for purpose due to the poor quality plastic used in it's manufacture

Disappointed with this hose

I also brought a battery operated hose reel fist batery failed within 7 months. Returned is and got a replacement
Second battery is now failing as they only come with a 12 month warranty I'm stuck with a hose that does not retract very disappointing Holman

Battery packs failing

We bought two of these units and the battery packs are both failing. Worked great for about six months then became problematic. Now one is totally dead, so will try Roberts idea on the switch as this seems to be the issue. Not happy as now they are almost unusable, unless you want to leave the hose rolled out. Seems to defeat the purpose of the retractable hose but.

Looked online to see if coudl buy a replacement battery, not surprising its out of stock and Bunnings has now stopped stocking the entire unit.

Hose reely challenging

As with other reviewers, the initial experience with this hose reel is great, but and it's a big BUT, there are numerous reviews complaining about the battery dying. The issue is not with the battery as such, but with the switch. The switch is dome shaped contact switch under a soft plastic cover, after being pressed the fine compresses and the hose reel ceases to be retractable. I cut the plastic cover off, popped the dome contact switch up and replaced the plastic with carpet tape, got another 6 months out of the reel, did it twice more before the battery actually died. 2 suggestions @Holman
1 - replace the switch with a positive flip switch off some description.
2 - provide a manual retract option so that when the battery fails the hose can still be used.

Battery Life is not sustainable

I decided to read the reviews to see what was wrong with my hose which seems to be an ongoing issue. Unfortunately I was unable to install the hose when first purchased, however once installed I wouldn’t have even used it 10 times and the battery pack has already gone and unable to retract back. I am guessing they just stop working due to time rather than use of it. With the money spent on it very disappointing I probably spending $20 for each water use. I just looked for replacement which is out of stock and $50 which seems a lot.

Battery not water resistant

Battery not water resistant , mounted mine on the corner of my shed awning less than a month old the led lights have water droplets (condensation) inside , the advertising on the box doesn’t state that it has to be mounted in a semi covered area like under a eave , which is what i was told when I called Holman the lady said she has never heard of water getting inside the battery which I find hard to believe as when it rains they will still get wet or moist regardless of where it’s mounted.

Ease of Use

This powered hose reel is better than expected. It is simple to use and easy to power via a USB cable. The little power unit just pops out to recharge. The charge lasts me a long time (months), but this would depend on the use. The LED indicators show the current charge available. It is the envy of my street!

Battery unit

Hi have had the unit for a couple of years and its been great however the battery unit has failed (batteries) & the replacement part is not in stock, seems like a shame to replace the entire unit when only the battery is faulty.

Poor design

I’ve had my hose reel for 3 years now and the bracket has failed - as a result it can’t be wall hung anymore. With my 2nd reel (I bought two) , the run button doesn’t work on single press - may need to try for 2/3 mins and get it going. Not a long term product that I’d buy again.

Electronics not weatherproof

I was very pleased with this initially. It was flawless all summer. The battery pack lasted well and the reel did its job well.

About a month ago the lights on the battery pack stopped working but the reel still wound in.

Now it's dead and on inspection I can see condensation and rust stains under the battery pack.

The spare part/replacement is out of stock.

The hose reel was exposed to some moisture sometimes (windy storms) but not out and unprotected from the rain.

Disappointed with the outcome. I hope I kept the the receipt in a safe place but I'm not hopeful that the warranty will work out.
