250mm Aluminium Thermometer

When I saw the image I thought it was an angled shot, but no... this is an angled thermometer. First, there is no way to stand this thing up anywhere - it has to be hung. But worse, the design means you get a different result depending on which side of the scale you read. The liguid is horizontal, but the scale is offset. I have a scientific background and if I saw this in the lab it would go straight in the bin. Why, why, why change an age-old, classic design?

Saw this thermometer at Bunnings. It claims to be “easy to read” but the diagonal markings do exactly the opposite. Stupid design!
