FAQ

FAQ

I have attached my unit to the tap and there is water running from the outlet, how do I stop this?

  • You will need to close the solenoid manually. Select the AUTO setting and pressing the MANUAL button. Press the ‘plus’ button to enter a run time (1-min) and let this time elapse. This will close the solenoid once the time has run. You may need to select the ZONE on multiple outlet timers by pressing the ZONE button to select the correct outlet that is running.

My timer is not coming on at the scheduled time.

  • Be sure you have not selected a DELAY time. With your timer in AUTO mode, press the ‘plus’ button to check the DELAY time is on 0.

I am trying to manually run ZONE 2 but my timer keeps reverting to ZONE 1

  • Press the MANUAL button and use the ‘minus’ button to set the RUN time in ZONE 1 to zero. Press your ZONE button to select the correct ZONE and enter the run time for that ZONE.

My timer shows it is watering but there is no water coming thru?

  • There may be an airlock in the system. Disconnect the timer and reset it. Flush your irrigation system before attaching to the timer again.

Why is the water still running after my program has finished?

  • There may be a pressure issue with your system. The use of a pressure reducer, attached at the tap, before the timer, will assist in this situation.

Zone 1 is working fine, but the other zones are not watering.

  • Please check the programming to ensure a START time and a RUN time have been set for each of these ZONES.

How do I reset my timer?

  • Press and hold the OK button till the time is reset to 7.00am. The unit will be in default settings now.

Is it OK to use my timer over winter?

  • We do not recommend the use of your timer over the winter period. It will not handle low temperatures, below 3 degrees Celsius may damage the timer.
  • We advise the timer to be removed over the winter period, or allowed to drain if left on the tap.

Useless product

If possible I would give it a zero star rating. Won't work, shows watering on the screen but no water coming out. I have forgotten how many times I have changed the watering time to try and get it to work but no water coming out. Right now sitting in front it and it is just showing that it's watering, but no water. The product is less than 18 months old. Useless, maybe that's why not available anymore.

Sorry that its discontinued

Ive used both the four and two tap versions of this product for over 2 years and have had no problems with it at all. Its very flexible and easy to use and by far the best of the many tap timers ive bought. Its been sold out when ive tried to buy more in the past and now apparently discontinued, which is a great shame imo.

I am using this product more than 2 years, until now no issues, all 4 zones working perfectly. I want to buy another one, but not available, it is now discontinued.

Failed in less than a year

internal jams, does not turn on, not watering at all. a cheap and nasty product for the price that you pay for it. The lack of quality of this products makes me question the entire Holman brand.

Holman water whiz 400

Have had 4 of these over 4 years. All have failed within a year with assorted problems - jammed valves, heavy leaking internally from the body of the unit, water failing to switch on at all, individual stations failing to trigger. Have just purchased my fourth unit and it has failed within 2 weeks! It is a shame because it is easy to programme and works really well when it is running OK. problem is it doesn't run for long. Avoid!

It used to work well but it now leaks internally. The unit is only 18 months old. Quality control or bad design is obviously an issue. Not recommended.

This should be 0 stars. Had this 4 days and it has stopped working. Shows as going but no longer putting out any water. It's a waste of time and money. Wish I'd looked online for reviews as this seems common.

I have been very happy with this product up until now.
It's less than two years old but it began leaking from the connection to the tap and I can't stop the leak.
It was great when it worked. I had one outlet watering the hens, and with up to four cycles I could run it for a minute 4 times a day and not worry about their water during our extreme summer temperatures.
The lawn and pot plants did well with regular watering too.
I would just like to be able to stop the leak if I can.

Program 4 areas separately: Water on different schedules in up to four areas. Water your lawn twice daily, and an established shrubbery once, all at the same time as watering a newly planted flower bed three times.

Multiple watering configurations: Cover a diverse range of watering requirements, from delicate flowers to basic lawn maintenance. Scheduling is also available for use on drip systems, sprinklers and more.

Individual daily schedules: Manage garden needs and conserve water, even if you’re away from the home. Daily timers give ultimate flexibility in watering location, time and frequency. Great for mixed plantings and watering restrictions.

Easy manual override: With the push of a button, switch to manual to wash the car, spray the driveway and other outdoor work with the hose.
