  • Protects your hose from the harsh Australian sun by being stored away
  • No twisting or kinking with the reel’s automatic layering mechanism
  • Ability to stop the hose at the exact length you need
  • Handy lid allows you to look inside and inspect the hose reel and hose
  • No more tripping hazard with the hose being neatly stored away after each use
  • All parts included – a premium quality hose, 7-function spray gun and fittings required for mounting

Follow these 7 Easy Steps to Install your Retractable Hose Reel

1. Mark out the four drill holes with a pencil.
2. Once you have finished marking, drill the holes using the correct drill bit size. Use a 10mm drill bit for the 20 and 30 metre hose reels and an 8mm drill bit for the 10m.
3. Insert the wall plugs into the holes and tap in with a hammer.
4. Screw in the four included bolts and tighten them with a spanner.
5. Place the hose on the bracket and insert the pin to lock it in place.
6. When you’re ready to water, pull the hose out to any position and gently tug it to lock it in place.
7. To retract the hose, give it a tug and let it retract into the reel housing.

The Retractable Hose Reel features a removable cover which is handy for inspecting the hose and retracting mechanism.

Troubleshooting the Retractable Hose Reel

  1. The ‘threaded’ rod which guides the hose to position equally around the hose barrel keeps slipping and not guiding into position, do you sell the rod ? As it must be worn. or any other suggestions? The unit is about 5 years old

    1. Hi Philip, Thanks for getting in touch! I’ve passed along your comment to our customer service team, could you please send a photo and the size of your hose reel (10m/20m/30m) to support@holmanindustries.com.au? Our customer service will be able to assess the issue and see if there is a spare part available to troubleshoot the issue.

    1. Hi Karen, please ensure that the fence is sturdy enough to hold the weight of the hose reel and that your garden tap is within reach as well. You will also need to get appropriate screws as the ones included are for masonry bricks.

  2. Because the wall we had to mount on is 3 meters from the tap, can I get a longer “hose to tap” to fit to my 30 m reel ?
    Cheers
    Anne

    1. Hi Anne, you can change the end fitting (hose connector) that comes with your attached tap-to-reel hose to one of our hose joiners, this will allow you to add on the required extra length of hose. Join the hose connector to the end of the extra length once you are done to connect it to your tap again. We hope this helps!

    1. Hi Korula, you can refer to page 4 of our Retractable Hose Reel manual for a drawing that shows where to insert the safety pin. We hope this helps! You can view the manual here.

  3. Do you sell covers for your retractable hose units? If not can you recommend or suggest an alternative brand whose cover will fit a Holman 20mtr unit please.

    1. Hi Dianne, we do not currently, however, we’re hoping too in the future! I’m not sure what brands make these but the housing is 36cm in diameter and 40cm long from the bracket. I hope this is helpful!

  4. Is it ok to attach Holman Retractable Hose to Hardi Plank weatherboards? If so, in your opinion, best method.
    Thank you

    1. Hi Rita,

We can only recommend the attachment of our retractable units to a brick or solid wall using the masonry fittings provided. We would strongly urge you to contact your local hardware agent, handyman or builder for exact instructions on mounting to weatherboard.
